- Preheat oven to 325°F.
- Place the ham cut-side down in a roasting pan.
- Add approximately 1/2 cup water to the bottom of the pan.
- Cover loosely with foil.
- Bake according to the ham’s package instructions, generally approximately 10 to 15 minutes per pound for a fully cooked ham.
- Meanwhile, combine the glaze ingredients in a small saucepan.
- Cook over low to medium heat for approximately 3 to 5 minutes, stirring until smooth and glossy.
- When the ham is nearly fully heated, remove it from the oven.
- Increase oven temperature to 400°F.
- Remove foil.
- Brush approximately half of the glaze over the ham, working some between the spiral slices.
- Return ham to the oven uncovered for approximately 10 minutes.
- Brush with remaining glaze.
- Continue roasting another 10 to 15 minutes, watching carefully, until glossy and lightly caramelized.
- Remove from oven.
- Rest approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
- Slice and serve warm.
Notes
Use a fully cooked spiral ham for easiest preparation.
Check the label for added sugars if you are closely tracking carbohydrates.
Discard any glaze packet included with the ham.
Brown sugar-style keto sweetener works better than plain granulated sweetener for holiday glaze flavor.
Avoid overheating the glaze because some sugar substitutes can crystallize.
