Air-Fryer Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
- Trim the ends from the zucchini. Cut each zucchini into evenly sized fry-shaped pieces.
- Pat the zucchini thoroughly dry with paper towels.
- Add the egg to a shallow bowl and beat until smooth.
- In a second shallow bowl, combine the Parmesan, almond flour, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, pepper, and salt.
- Dip each zucchini piece into the egg. Allow the excess egg to drip back into the bowl.
- Press each piece into the Parmesan mixture until coated on all sides.
- Arrange the zucchini fries in one layer in the air-fryer basket. Leave space between the pieces and cook in batches when necessary.
- Spray the fries lightly with cooking spray.
- Air fry for 9 to 12 minutes, turning carefully halfway through, until the coating is golden and the zucchini is tender.
- Serve immediately with your preferred keto-friendly dipping sauce.
- Oven Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or place a lightly greased wire rack over the baking sheet.
- Prepare and bread the zucchini using the instructions above.
- Arrange the fries in one layer, leaving space between each piece.
- Spray the tops lightly with cooking spray.
- Bake for approximately 18 to 22 minutes, turning carefully halfway through, until golden and tender.
- Broil for one to two minutes at the end for additional browning, watching closely to prevent burning.
Notes
- Small or medium zucchini usually produce a better texture than oversized zucchini.
- Dry the zucchini thoroughly before breading.
- Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the fries and the air-fryer model.
- Cook in batches rather than overcrowding the basket.
